Photobiomodulation (PBM) is the biological process by which cells receive light (photon) energy and trigger the production of healing substances.
The body utilizes photon energy to activate its inherent healing mechanisms at each phase of the healing process: Inflammation, Repair, Regeneration, Remodeling, and finally, Maturation.
Increasing circulation, bringing needed nutrients to cell tissue, and delivering these healing substances, is one of the primary mechanisms of healing.
